Dr. Monique Carr, OD

Secretary - Treasurer

Dr. Deandre Monique Carr Stevens is a native of Clinton, Mississippi. After graduating from Clinton High School in 1991, she attended Jackson State University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry Pre-Medicine. She is a graduate of Southern College of Optometry located in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Carr and her staff welcome the opportunity to serve your vision care needs, as well as those of your family, friends and business associates. Whether you are new in the area, experiencing a change in your vision, or simply seeking a new vision care provider, we hope you will take the time to learn more about us.

Channing Wells, OD

District 4

Dr. Channing Wells, a native of Jackson, Mississippi graduated from Tougaloo College with a bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2010. She then attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL where she received her doctorate of Optometry in 2014.Dr. Wells completed externships in Primary Care, Low Vision, Advanced Care & Ocular Disease, Contact Lenses, Vision therapy and Pediatric Optometry at various locations across the United States. Those locations included the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Memphis, TN, and the Feinbloom Vision Rehabilitation Center and Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, IL. Dr. Wells is member of the American Optometric Association, Mississippi Optometric Association and National Optometric Association.
Justin McElroy, OD

District 5

Dr. Justin McElroy is a native of Natchez, Mississippi. He earned a Bachelors and a Masters degree in English Literature from Mississippi State University and minored in Chemistry at the University of Memphis. He earned his doctorate from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, and is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Mississippi Optometric Association, and is also an InfantSee provider. When not practicing Optometry, Dr. McElroy enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with his family and his pets. He is a member of the Laurel Kiwanis Club, and he attends St. John’s Episcopal Church, where he serves on the Vestry. 

Dr. Michael Phillips, OD

At Large

Dr. Phillips is a native of north Mississippi and received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Millsaps College where he was also a four-year varsity letterman in football. Dr. Phillips received his Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry. He is an active member of the Metro Jackson Lions Club. He is a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the Mississippi Optometric Association, where he is currently serving on the Board of Directors. He attends Meadowbrook Church of Christ. Dr. Phillips and his wife, Cassie, have four children, Virginia, Max, Eliza, and Rachel. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, coaching and attending sporting events. His occupational interests include contact lenses, treating ocular diseases and post-operative care. Dr. Phillips sees patients in our Ridgeland, Canton, Madison and Brandon locations.

InfantSEE®

We are proud to be an affiliate of the American Optometric Association and to be enrolled as InfantSEE® providers.

Infant vision development is key to a child’s overall development and a happy, healthy life. InfantSEE is a partnership with the AOA and The Vision Care Institute of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care. The program is designed to make sure that eye and vision care become part of routine infant wellness care in the United States.

Under this program, MOA member optometrists offer a free first eye assessment for infants within the child’s first year of life.
